Ladylike

Continuing with this lovely weather, i got to wear one of my favourite Dresses. This is one of my favourites purely because the cut is so flattering! I do adore a longer length dress now, a couple of years ago i shuddered at the thought of wearing something not above the knee. 

That's what i love about the 50s! Dresses were longer in length but beautifully clinched in and flattered all assets!

This Dress is Vintage, i got it from a great 'Retro Room' in a local Charity Shop. It's great, it's like a little mini museum full of vintage handbags and garments! So many Charity Shops have added in Vintage & Retro sections into their shops, alot of the pieces can be rather 'granny' but every now and then you will find a gem! :) My handbag i also purchased from the Retro Room!

Black & Gold.

I found this vintage beauty in a Charity Shop last Christmas. I always get so excited when i find a vintage label in a charity shop for such a teeny price! The top is covered in gold beading all over with extra detailing on the neckline, it's so dazzling!

I love this style top so much that i display them on my wall at times, just so pretty!

As i have been off Uni, i have finally had the chance to rekindle my love for Old Hollywood even more. As i had been so busy with work & assignments i'd had no time to discover some new loves! Now having the time to watch more, i feel even more inspired than ever to be a full fledged vintage lover. With this i feel a little giddy & i get a little obsessed with certain movie characters or stars so i'm just starting a small collection of postcards. Ala Clark Gable & James Dean are the start of my collection. I got all of these from ebay for ridiculously good prices & the charm i find is that they are old, having been loved by a previous owner.

This beauty is the best jacket to exist. I spotted it a month or so ago but didn't buy it regrettably but it was still there yesterday!

Me today. Lovely hot day & had not yet had the chance to wear this dress. It's covered in Lemons & it's quite like a 50's style dress. The only annoying thing about this beautiful dress is the fact that it flattens my top half alot yet it goes in perfectly at the waist. My sis said i got alot of 'looks' from the opposite sex so yay i guess?

Me & my sister Chumia also went to London on Wednesday. I got a couple of things which i shall pop up soon. xx

Wartime Nurses.

Today for the first time in ages i got to have a browse in my favourite charity shop & look what i found! I found this cardigan in the vintage section & it caught my eye as soon as i walked into the shop, it's just so fluffy glittery & different. I know that when i will wear it especially where i live people will stare at it like 'eurghh' or 'oooh' which is exactly why i like to wear slightly garish things. I also managed to get hold of a white shirt with a really cool mad print on the collars & sleeves..love it.

Vintage Swimwear.

Even though the English Summer never seems to last very long,i think most of us girlie's think about what we are going to wear on the beach or on holiday when it comes to summer. I have been longing for a Vintage style swimsuit or bikini. I love the silhouettes & the decoration of them, they were defiantly not dressing down back then. There are just a few i adore.

Pleated Dresses.

There has always been one style of Dress that i have always admired & that is the Pleated Dress. I love have pleat dresses fall & the feeling of being able to swirl around in them. The feeling of femininity that i love. Maybe one other reason why i adore them could be because of the wonderful infamous Marilyn Monroe in that ivory pleated dress from the movie ''The Seven Year Itch'' .

The Dress went up for auction recently & fetched a whopping $ 4, 600, 000! For most of us who don't have a spare million in the bank here are a couple of Dresses from the High St & Online.

Lastly this is my Dress that i purchased this week from H&M for just £29.99. I just fell in love with it,sadly due to not having a good phone camera you can't see the quality of the dress so better photo's to come!

On my wish list is a Vintage Pink Pleated Dress 1950's that cinches in perfectly at the waist. I saw the most perfect one on a lovely Vintage Stall at Norwich Market last week but not my size..gutted!

A little bold.

I have had this shirt for a while now & never wore it so today seemed the perfect day to wear it,as the sun was shining! It's very eye catching which obviously i like & looks very 80's/retro. I also have warmed to the idea of having a bun on top of my head in this hot weather so yes this was my outfit to i wore walking to the gym of course..i hate underdressing for any occasion!

Before my gym session today i had a quick look in h&m & i just love that shop so much! I ended up buying a beautiful white strapless pleated dress which reminds me of the legendary dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in the 7 year itch,I'm just in love with it & shall blog it later. I can't wait to have some lovely photo's taken in it when i wear it to a wedding at the end of the month!
